§ 15.12.011. Plumbing inspection fees.

  • In addition to all other building permit fees, all persons shall pay to the city prior to the issuance of a building permit, the following amounts for plumbing inspection:

    A.

    Residential (single-family) new construction.

    1.

    Plumbing inspection fee: One-hundred fifty dollars.

    2.

    For any reinspection due to corrections or due to the fact that such residence is not ready for inspection: Thirty dollars each.

    B.

    Residential additions, alterations, remodeling or other structures.

    1.

    Any inspection: Thirty dollars each.

    C.

    Residential construction for duplex, triplex and quads.

    1.

    Plumbing inspection fee: One hundred fifty dollars per unit.

    2.

    For any reinspection due to corrections or due to the fact that such residence is not ready for inspection: Thirty dollars each.

    D.

    Apartments over four units.

    1.

    Plumbing inspection fee: One hundred fifty dollars per unit.

    2.

    For any reinspection due to corrections for due to the fact that such apartment building is not ready for inspection: Thirty dollars each.

    E.

    Commercial and industrial.

    1.

    Plumbing inspection fee for the new construction of commercial and industrial construction shall be per estimate.

    F.

    Commercial and industrial remodeling, additions, alterations or other structures.

    1.

    Plumbing inspection fee shall be at cost. The mayor with the advice and consent of the city council is authorized to retain an independent contractor to perform the plumbing inspections for the city. The city retains the right to terminate the services of the independent contractor upon giving five days' written notice to them.

    G.

    Building inspection fees and plumbing inspection fees for multifamily apartments shall total the combined sum of twenty-five dollars per one hundred square foot (twelve dollars and fifty cents building/twelve dollars and fifty cents plumbing.

    1.

    Building and plumbing inspection fees shall be paid following the receipt of a building permit application, and prior to the issuance of a building permit.

    2.

    Building and plumbing inspection fees shall include three building inspections and three plumbing inspections. Any additional building and/or plumbing inspections shall be an additional expense, and shall be charged in the amount of thirty-five dollars per additional inspection.
