§ 2.48.047. Sergeants.

  • There is created the office of sergeant in the police department. The number of sergeants from time to time shall be determined by the chief of police in his/her discretion. The sergeants shall be appointed by the board of police commissioners in accordance with the Illinois Compiled Statutes. The sergeants shall have the following duties:

    A.

    Investigate crimes;

    B.

    Handle the internal operations of the police department as assigned to him by the chief of police; and

    C.

    Perform other duties assigned to him by the chief of police.
