§ 15.12.025. Electrical inspection fees.

  • In addition to all other fees required to be paid herein, all persons shall pay to the city prior to the issuance of a building permit, the following amounts for electrical inspections:

    A.

    Residential (single-family) new construction.

    1.

    Electrical inspection fee: One hundred fifty dollars.

    2.

    For any re-inspection due to corrections or due to the fact that such residence is not ready for inspection: Forty-five dollars each.

    B.

    Residential additions, alterations, remodeling or other structures.

    1.

    Any inspection: Forty-five dollars each.

    C.

    Residential construction for duplex, triplex and quads .

    1.

    Electrical inspection fee: One hundred fifty dollars per unit.

    2.

    For any re-inspection due to corrections or due to the fact that such residence is not ready for inspection: Forty-five dollars each.

    D.

    Apartments over four units.

    1.

    Electrical inspection fees for multifamily apartments shall be the sum of thirty-five dollars per one hundred square foot.

    2.

    For any re-inspection due to corrections or due to the fact that such apartment building is not ready for inspection: Forty-five dollars each.

    E.

    Commercial and industrial.

    1.

    Electrical inspection fee for the new construction of commercial and industrial construction shall be per estimate.

    F.

    Commercial and industrial remodeling, additions, alterations or other structures.

    1.

    Electrical inspection fee shall be per estimate. The city is hereby authorized to retain an independent contractor to perform the electrical inspections for the city. The city retains the right to terminate the services of the independent contractor upon giving five days' written notice to them.

    G.

    Electrical inspection fees shall be paid with the submission of a building permit application.

    H.

    Electrical inspection fees shall include three electrical inspections. Any additional electrical inspections shall be an additional expense, and shall be charged in the amount of forty-five dollars per additional inspection.
