§ 12.24.225. Use of Goold Park during school hours—Restrictions.

  • No person over the age of twelve years and under the age of twenty-one years shall be allowed to be present within the boundaries of Goold Park between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays in which the Morris Community High School is in session without the express written consent of the Morris Chief of Police or the Morris High School Police Liaison.

    No person over the age of twelve years and under the age of twenty-one years shall stop, stand or park a motor vehicle in Goold Park between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays in which the Morris Community High School is in session without the express written consent of the Morris Chief of Police or the Morris High School Police Liaison.

    The first four parking spaces in the southeast portion of the parking lot in upper Goold Park shall be designated as one-hour parking spaces on school days during normal school hours.

    This section shall not apply to parents or other authorized adults from lawfully supervising children under the age of twelve years while utilizing the park.

    Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars or more than seven hundred fifty dollars. Whenever a monetary fine is assessed by the court pursuant to this Code, the court is further expressly authorized by the City of Morris to use dispositions including, but not limited to, court supervision, deferred judgment, conditional discharge, and suspended sentence.
