§ 10.40.040. Authority to remove and tow away violating vehicles.

The police department and all members thereof assigned to traffic duty are authorized to remove and tow away or have removed and towed away, by commercial towing service, any car or other vehicles which violate or fail to comply with Section 10.40.020. Cars or vehicles so towed away shall be stored on city property or in a public garage or parking lot and shall be restored to the owner or operator thereof after payment of the expense incurred by the city in removing and storing such cars or vehicles. In addition to the towing charges to be paid by the owner or operator, there shall be a penalty of five dollars for violation of the above section.
