§ 10.30.010. Places designated.

  • At any time it is unlawful to permit any vehicle to stand in any of the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a policeman or traffic-control device:

    A.

    In any intersection;

    B.

    In a crosswalk;

    C.

    Upon any bridge or viaduct, or in any subway or tunnel or the approach thereto;

    D.

    Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within twenty feet of a point of the curb immediately opposite the end of a safety zone;

    E.

    Within thirty feet of a traffic signal, beacon, or sign on the approaching side;

    F.

    Within twenty feet of any intersection or crosswalk;

    G.

    At any place where the standing of a vehicle will reduce the usable width of the roadway for moving traffic to less than eighteen feet;

    H.

    Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant;

    I.

    At any place where the vehicle would block the use of a driveway;

    J.

    Within fifty feet of the nearest rail of a railroad grade crossing;

    K.

    Within twenty feet of the driveway entrance to any fire department station and on the side of the street opposite the entrance to any such station within seventy-five feet of such entrance when properly signposted;

    L.

    On any sidewalk or parkway;

    M.

    At any place where official signs prohibit parking;

    N.

    The following streets and parts of streets:

    1.

    East Street between North Street and Chapin Street;

    2.

    Jackson Street between Grundy Street and Washington Street;

    3.

    North Street between Wall Street and East Street or upon the north side of North Street for a distance of one hundred twenty-five feet from the Oil Station driveway to the east;

    4.

    Wall Street between Washington Street and North Street;

    5.

    Illinois Avenue between Franklin Street and Division Street;

    6.

    Franklin Street on the east side of Franklin Street between Washington Street and Main Street;

    7.

    Bedford Road on the north side of Bedford Road between Lisbon Road and Black Street;

    8.

    Division Street on the east side of Division Street between Bedford Road and Maple Drive;

    9.

    Kiersted Street on the east side of Kiersted Street between Jefferson Street and North Street;

    10.

    Chapin Street on the north side of Chapin Street between Liberty Street and Wauponsee Street;

    11.

    On the west side of the Holiday Inn frontage road at a point five hundred feet to either side of the main entrance to the Holiday Inn;

    12.

    On School Street between Union Street and Park Boulevard;

    13.

    On the west side of Spruce Street from Armstrong Street to the first alley north thereof;

    14.

    On the west side of Wauponsee Street between Depot Street and Benton Street;

    15.

    Next to the center island on Mooseheart Court;

    16.

    On the north side of Jefferson Street and Freemont Avenue between Nettle Street and West Avenue;

    17.

    No parking when school is in session (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) along the east side of Union Street from U.S. Route 6 to Johnson Avenue;

    18.

    On the east side of Fulton Street between Jefferson Street and the south side of the alley, south of Main Street and north of Washington Street, running from Fulton Street to Wauponsee Street;

    19.

    No parking on the south side of North Street from Route 47 to the Presbyterian Church/Franklin School parking lot entrance;

    20.

    On the east side of Calhoun Street between Illinois Avenue and Washington Street;

    21.

    On the north side of High Street between Liberty Street and Edwards Street;

    22.

    Repealed;

    23.

    On the west side of Wauponsee Street from Jefferson Street to the alley immediately south of the City Hall, except persons conducting city business at City Hall, may park there;

    24.

    On the west side of Wauponsee from Main Street to the alley immediately south of the old City Hall, except firemen may park there;

    25.

    Within ten feet of the centerline of the driveway entrance to the property commonly known as 123 West Illinois Avenue in Morris;

    26.

    On the west side of Pine Street from Douglas Street to Armstrong Street;

    27.

    On the east side of Ashland Drive from Candlelight Lane to Meadowbrook Lane;

    28.

    On the south side of Meadowbrook Lane from Ashland Drive to Parkland Drive;

    29.

    On the east side of Lisbon Street, from Bedford Road south to Waverly Street;

    30.

    On the west and east sides of Lisbon Road, from Bedford Road north for a distance of one hundred fifty feet;

    31.

    On both sides of Armstrong Street (west of Route 47) from the Route 47 overpass to Benton Street;

    32.

    On the east and west sides of Price Street, from Armstrong Street north for a distance of forty-five feet;

    33.

    On the west side of Meadowbrook, from Ashland southwesterly for a distance of two hundred forty-five feet;

    34.

    On both sides of Green Acres Drive from Illinois Route 47 west to Sycamore Drive;

    35.

    On both sides of Gore Road from Illinois Route 47 southwest to the city limit line;

    36.

    On the east side of Sycamore Drive from Green Acres Drive north to Sean Drive,

    37.

    On the west side of Sycamore Drive from Green Acres Drive north to Sean Drive except cars, passenger vans and pickup trucks shall be permitted to park in this area;

    38.

    On the west side of Spruce Street from North Street to Chapin Street;

    39.

    On the west side of Union Street from the north drive of the Morris Community High School to a point two hundred feet north of the north drive;

    40.

    On both sides of Gladys Avenue from Johnson Avenue south for a distance of one hundred seventy-five feet;

    41.

    The south side of North Street for a distance of three hundred forty feet east of the intersection of Pine Street and North Street;

    42.

    On the north side of George Street between the entrance/exit from McDonalds to the entrance/exit to the adjoining property immediately west of said entrance/exit (currently E-Z Air & Appliance, Inc.);

    43.

    Union Street on the east side, from Johnson Avenue to Route 6 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on days when school is in session;

    44.

    Union Street within fifteen feet on each side of the crosswalk at Union Street and Narvick Avenue;

    45.

    Union Street on the west side from Route 6 to School Street;

    46.

    On Union Street on the east side from Narvick Avenue to a point fifty feet south of Waverly Street;

    47.

    On the north side of Quarry Street between Lisbon and Clay Streets.

    48.

    On the South side of Brentwood Drive between Illinois Route 47 and East Newton Drive which shall be restricted to a two-hour time limit Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
